WALKING TOUR BY QUITO´S COLONIAL CENTER


Considered the best preserved historic center in all of Latin America and the first city in the world to be declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, we will take a walking tour of Quito's main treasures.

We start the tour at the Basilica del Voto Nacional, then walk downhill along the traditional street of the seven crosses, until we reach the Independence Square  to see the Carondelet Palace with its presidential guard. We will see the Metropolitan Cathedral of Quito, the Archbishop's Palace. Then we will  visit the Church of the Sagrario with its altarpieces and its magnificent screen. We will continue walking until we reach the Compañia de Jesus to see the largest expression of baroque in Latin America where all that shines is gold. Then we will  continue to arrive to  the San Francisco Square, if you wish we can go inside the convent to see a large exhibition of religious art made by the Quito school of arts .

Then we will go to the liberal and Bohemian part of Quito to walk along the narrow and traditional Ronda street, ending our tour at the Plaza de Santo Domingo.

- Convento de Santo Domingo

QUITO CITY TOUR

 

 On this tour, we'll explore the most interesting and historic sites of the first city in the world
to be declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll begin at the Guápulo viewpoint,
where we'll learn about the Orellana Route, before heading to Panecillo Hill, which offers
one of the best views of the city and features the world's largest aluminum statue of the Virgin Mary.

 Next, we'll visit the Basilica of the National Vow, one of the largest Gothic-style churches in
Latin America, and witness the fusion of indigenous spirituality and Catholic beliefs.
Afterward, we'll stroll through Quito's historic center, visiting Independence Square, where we'll see
the Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Archbishop's Palace.

We'll walk along the Street of the Seven Crosses, visiting the Sagrario, before entering one
of the most impressive churches in the Americas, the Church of the Society of Jesus,
also known as the Golden Church. Finally, we'll continue our walk to San Francisco Square
and Church. Next, we'll walk along one of the most traditional streets in colonial Quito,
called La Ronda. We'll end our tour at the Plazoleta de Santo Domingo,
where we'll take a taxi back to the hotel or wherever our tourists are staying.

QUITO AND THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLD IN ONE DAY



 If you only have one day in Quito and want to see the city's highlights, we suggest a one-day tour of the Middle of the World and Quito's Historic Center.

On this tour, we'll travel to the Lulumbamba Valley, now known as San Antonio de Pichincha, to admire the Rumicucho Ruins. Then we'll visit the Pululahua Volcano Crater, a unique place in the world where people live inside the caldera, dedicating themselves to agriculture and tourism. We'll experience life at the Middle of the World by visiting the Intiñan Interactive Museum. Next, we'll travel approximately 50 minutes to visit the Basilica of the National Vow, where we'll witness the blending of indigenous and Catholic spirituality and we can have one of the best view of Quito

We will walk down Calle de las Siete Cruces until we reach Plaza de la Independencia, where we can observe the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Metropolitan Cathedral of Quito. We will walk towards the Sagrario and then enter one of the most beautiful churches in the Americas, the Church of the Society of Jesus, also known as the Golden Church. We will then walk to the Plaza and Church of San Francisco and end our tour by visiting one of the most traditional streets of colonial Quito, La Ronda. OTAVALO, CUICOCHA, COTACACHI & PEGUCHE IN ONE DAY

   

The indigenous community of Otavalo is well-known for its hard work, business acumen, and skill in handicrafts and textiles. On this tour, we'll take you to the province of Imbabura,
where you'll not only visit the poncho market or the famous Otavalo market,

PAPALLACTA

Papallacta, famous for its volcanic springs in the midst of a stunning environment of forests and slopes. Papallacta is located on the eastern side of the Andes and is considered to be the entrance to the Amazon. These hot springs are located at 3,000 meters above the sea level and are surrounded by mountain cloud forest. Papallacta boasts a variety of pools of different temperature, whose water is odourless and colourless, known for its healing properties

 We'll travel from Quito to the Napo province, crossing the highest point on the road at 4,000 meters above sea level before descending to Papallacta. The journey takes approximately an hour and a half.  We can go at any time of day since the hot springs are open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. We'll walk along trails to enjoy the local flora and fauna, and if we're hungry, we can try traditional Ecuadorian food at a restaurant located right on the shore of the lagoon

QUILOTOA

 

On our journey to Quilotoa, we'll travel through the Andean valley to reach Cotopaxi National Park, where we'll have breakfast at a spot offering a breathtaking view of the Cotopaxi Volcano.

Afterward, we'll visit the community of La Victoria, a small village in the area known for its exquisite handcrafted ceramics. On our ascent to Quilotoa, we'll stop in the small village of Tigua,
where you can observe the local indigenous people painting colorful depictions of their festivals and legends on sheepskins from a very young age. We'll pause briefly at the Toachi River Canyon
before arriving at the Quilotoa Volcano crater, home to a lagoon whose waters change color with the sun's movement throughout the day.

The trip from Quito to Quilotoa takes approximately three and a half hours.

COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK


On this tour, we'll travel from Quito through the Andean valley to Cotopaxi National Park, where we'll stop for breakfast at a cozy spot with a direct view of the volcano.
We'll then enter the National Park and hike around Limpiopungo Lagoon,
observing the unique flora and various bird species that inhabit the lagoon.
Weather permitting, and if you're feeling adventurous and enjoy hiking,
we can continue to the parking area at the foot of the volcano and
then begin the ascent to the first refuge.

This experience will allow you to experience a variety of climates in just one day,
from the temperate climate of Quito to the cold and icy conditions of the volcano.
